Account settings
Your account settings are where you manage your profile, security, billing, and privacy. Everything about your Biraea account lives here.
Updating your profile
Click Settings in the dashboard sidebar to open your account settings. At the top, you will find your profile information.
You can update:
- First name and last name
- Email address -- this is what you use to log in
Make your changes and click Save. Your updates take effect immediately.
Changing your password
To change your password, scroll to the password section on the Settings page.
- 1Enter your current password.
- 2Type your new password.
- 3Confirm the new password by typing it again.
- 4Click Save.
Pick a strong password
Use a mix of letters, numbers, and symbols. A longer password is generally more secure than a short, complex one. Something you can remember but others cannot guess.
Two-factor authentication (2FA)
Two-factor authentication adds an extra layer of security to your account. When enabled, you will need both your password and a code from an authenticator app to log in.
To enable 2FA:
- 1Find the Two-Factor Authentication section on the Settings page.
- 2Click Enable. You will see a QR code and a secret key.
- 3Scan the QR code with an authenticator app (like Google Authenticator or Authy) or manually enter the secret key.
- 4Enter the 6-digit verification code from your app to confirm.
To disable 2FA: Click Disable and enter your password to confirm.
Save your secret key
When you set up 2FA, save the secret key somewhere safe. If you lose access to your authenticator app, you will need this key to recover your account.
Managing your subscription
The billing section shows your current plan and any active add-ons. From here you can:
- See your current tier (Free, Gather, Share, or Biraea Complete)
- View potential savings with annual billing
- Upgrade or change your plan
For a full breakdown of what each plan includes and pricing details, check out the Subscription tiers guide. →
Referral program
Love Biraea? Share it with friends and you can both benefit. The referral section on your Settings page shows your personal referral code, which you can copy and share.
Your referral dashboard tracks:
- Total people referred
- Pending referrals (signed up but not yet qualified)
- Qualified referrals
- Rewarded referrals
- Free months earned from your referrals
Marketing and communication preferences
You are always in control of what Biraea sends you. Your Privacy Choices section lets you manage your communication preferences.
If you would like to stop receiving promotional emails and marketing messages, you can update your preferences here. Biraea will still send you essential account notifications (like renewal reminders and security alerts), but all optional marketing communication stops immediately.
We respect sensitive situations
If you retire a site due to a pregnancy or infant loss, Biraea automatically suppresses marketing emails for your account. You do not need to do anything -- we handle it quietly so you are not reminded at a difficult time.
Session management
The Session Info section shows details about your current login session -- such as when you logged in and from which device. This is helpful for confirming that no one else has accessed your account.
If something looks unfamiliar, change your password right away and consider enabling two-factor authentication for extra protection.
Linked accounts
If you signed up with a social login (like Google), you can manage those connections in the Linked Accounts section. From here you can:
- See which social accounts are connected to your Biraea account.
- Connect additional social accounts for faster sign-in.
- Disconnect a social account if you no longer want to use it.
Deleting your account
If you ever need to delete your Biraea account, the option is at the bottom of the Settings page. This is permanent and cannot be undone.
- 1Scroll to the bottom of your Settings page.
- 2Click "Delete Account".
- 3Enter your password.
- 4Type the confirmation text exactly as shown.
- 5Confirm the deletion.
This cannot be undone
Deleting your account permanently removes all your data, including your sites, guests, messages, and settings. If you just want to take down a site temporarily, consider retiring it instead -- retired sites can be restored within 30 days. →
Tips
Keep your email up to date
Your email is how you log in and how Biraea reaches you for important updates like renewal reminders. If it changes, update it in Settings right away.
Enable 2FA for peace of mind
Two-factor authentication takes about a minute to set up and makes your account much harder for anyone else to access. Highly recommended if your site has guest information.
Retiring vs. deleting
Retiring a site keeps your data safe for 30 days in case you change your mind. Deleting your account erases everything permanently. When in doubt, retire first.
